November B-Town Beat

The B-Town Beat's next Music & Art Walk is all set for November 6th! This month the local businesses in downtown Burien have some really great music and art lined up for you to check out.

In addition to all the art openings and free live music, we want to use the November Music & Art Walk to support those in need in our community as things get a little colder and of course, more rain comes in. To do that, the B-Town Beat is partnering with Transform Burien to gather nonperishable food, winter clothing, blankets and sleeping bags. Transform Burien will use whatever we gather at the November 6 Music & Art Walk within their weekly food and clothing bank and soup kitchen to help those who need some support in our community. Transform Burien is a great local organization based out of the old Burien Community Center, The Annex. They host free hot meals twice a week, give out food, clothing and supplies to those who need it, and bring in medical and dental busses to help make sure those that can't afford to go to a dentist or doctor, don't go without medical and dental care.

We would absolutely love to overwhelm Transform Burien with more donations than they know what to do with. So we are asking that you take a look around to see if you have some gently used winter clothing, blankets or sleeping bags that you don't need any more, or maybe you might use them but know that someone else will need them a lot more this winter, and bring them to the B-Town Beat's November 6th Music & Art Walk, and really bless some people in this community.

While Transform Burien has specifically requested winter clothing, blanks, sleeping bags and nonperishable food, there are plenty of other things that are needed and no food and clothing donations will be turned away. Transform Burien also let us know that they are also short on men's clothing, toiletries, waterproof tarps and new socks.

Drop off locations will be located at various venues along the Music & Art Walk and will be marked on the event's map.

We look forward to seeing you on the Beat and hope you'll help us spread the word!
