About Emmanuel:

I was born and grew up in Seattle.  There was a brief five year period from 12 to 17 years old when my family moved around to different parts of the country living in Montana, New Orleans, and Idaho during that time.  Living in New Orleans made a tremendous impact upon my musicality and ultimate direction that I would take in my life.  It was the birth place of jazz music and I soaked up all the musical influences that it offered the two years I lived there.  We resettled back to Seattle during my senior year of high school where I graduated from Highline High School in 1984.  From there I went to the University of Washington and studied in the School of Architecture and Jazz Music Studies.
